The Faculty of Education’s Department of Mathematics organised a series of workshops and professional development courses for administrative and academic staff, as well as female students. The said event comes as part and parcel of the Academic Development Programme in preparation for the 2022–2023 academic year.

The programme commenced with a seminar entitled Modern Trends in Higher Education: Effective Teaching as a Model, delivered by Prof. Dr. Ni’mah Abd Al-Samad Al-Asadi, a trainer in educational qualification courses at the Continuing Education Centre of University of Kufa.

The seminar aimed to familiarise participants with the concept of effective teaching and its relationship to effective learning. It also highlighted key aspects of contemporary higher education philosophy, which emphasises students' active role in the learning process.

In addition, the seminar introduced participants to the most important effective teaching methods and approaches, with particular emphasis on addressing individual differences among students in the delivery of academic content and the achievement of intended learning outcomes.
