Under the patronage of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Abdul-Hussein Al-Mulla, the Department of Architectural Engineering held a celebration marking World Architecture Day under the theme “Every Place Has a Story,” with the participation of faculty members and students from the department.
The event aimed to highlight the importance of architectural engineering and its role in shaping the built environment, while emphasizing the close relationship between architecture, people, society, and the environment. It also underscored architecture as a discipline that extends beyond engineering and design to reflect the memory, identity, and culture of a place.
The celebration further sought to showcase the creative potential of the department’s students and encourage them to apply their academic knowledge in developing architectural concepts and solutions that respond to the needs of society.
The event featured an exhibition of architectural works and projects produced by students of the Department of Architectural Engineering. Through their projects, the students presented various perspectives and ideas on the concept of place and its relationship with people, reflecting the academic and practical design skills they have acquired and their ability to transform ideas and concepts into architectural designs that combine functionality with aesthetic value.
