The College of Engineering and Information Technology organised a scientific workshop titled 'The Trap of Illusory Achievement', presented by lecturer Maryam Hussein Ali from the Department of Architecture Engineering. The workshop highlighted the importance of guiding architecture students' efforts towards genuine achievement based on quality work and specialised scientific evaluation, contributing to the development of both theoretical and practical aspects of academic architectural projects. The workshop also emphasised the importance of prioritising and managing time, pointing out that having multiple tasks and projects does not necessarily mean progress. Real achievement requires setting clear goals for each design stage and turning initial ideas and plans into actionable and developable steps, while continuously monitoring and evaluating results, and avoiding procrastination and focus on non-essential details. The workshop concluded by stressing that true architectural accomplishment is realised when a student can transform an idea into a clear, well-executed and creative design solution, subject to expert evaluation and developed through successive practical steps, leading to complete architectural projects with scientific and practical value
