About the Department

The Department of Physiotherapy Techniques was established at Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) for Women in 2018. Following exploratory visits conducted by physiotherapy specialists, and due to the shortage of female professionals in this field along with the increasing number of muscular injuries and fractures that cause limited or loss of movement requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation, the specialized committee decided to open the Department of Physiotherapy Techniques. The department has been supported with all necessary resources to become distinguished in its laboratories and classrooms. It aims to graduate highly qualified female professionals capable of providing practical healthcare services in hospitals in the field of physiotherapy. The duration of study in this department is four years.

To enhance physiotherapy services by offering high-quality educational and scientific research programs, both theoretical and practical, with distinguished efficiency in all aspects of therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive work.

Department Message

To graduate highly competent middle medical cadres specialized in physiotherapy and rehabilitation by providing a stimulating environment for learning, creativity, and advancement in the field of physiotherapy, and by effectively supporting scientific and practical research to promote community health.

Strategic Goals of the Department

The department aims to graduate technical staff in physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation and equip them with the skills required to treat neurological, psychological, internal medicine, surgical cases, hearing and speech impairments, and pediatric conditions. The department aspires to: • Provide qualified staff to deliver medical care and physiotherapy services to individuals suffering from movement disorders, physical disabilities, and functional limitations, as well as to athletes in all sports, both inside and outside the field, and to enhance their physical performance. • Equip graduates with technical skills to operate modern physiotherapy equipment in hospitals, sports medicine institutions, the Ministry of Youth, the Olympic Committee, sports federations, and rehabilitation centers. • Offer high-quality educational programs aligned with the latest developments and establish strategic plans for follow-up and continuous training of those implementing therapeutic programs. • Encourage and support scientific research in the field of physiotherapy and physical rehabilitation. • Strengthen relationships with health and service sectors and relevant community institutions by opening outpatient clinics that provide services to patients in advanced and modern laboratories after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education. • Organize cultural and training courses in physiotherapy to keep pace with the latest advancements in this field.
