An Academic Vision Towards Excellence and Innovation

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Presidency of Al-Zahraa University for Women and the Deanship of the College of Health and Medical Technologies have consistently strived to keep pace with scientific developments in alignment with labor market needs. From this commitment emerged the decision to establish the Department of Aesthetic and Laser Technologies, which opened its doors to admit 94 students in its first academic year (2025–2026) from various Iraqi governorates. The department aims to provide the highest standards of education to its students through a distinguished group of specialized faculty members in the fields of cosmetology and laser technologies, enabling graduates to become leaders in their profession in service to the community and in alignment with the vision and directions of the Al-Hussain Holy Shrine. Comprehensive Information About the Department

The Department of Aesthetic and Laser Technologies is considered one of the specialized scientific departments dedicated to preparing scientifically and practically qualified personnel in the fields of skin care, medical and cosmetic laser technologies, and modern non-surgical treatments. The department aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of laser devices, peeling techniques, phototherapy, and advanced dermatological care, in accordance with the latest scientific standards and principles of occupational safety. The department focuses on integration between medical and technical aspects through the study of the fundamentals of anatomy and skin physiology, and the basics of common dermatological diseases, in addition to practical training within laboratories equipped with the latest devices, ensuring the graduation of competent professionals capable of working in medical and cosmetic centers and specialized clinics with high efficiency and professionalism.

Leadership and excellence in the field of Aesthetic and Laser Technologies at the local and regional levels, through the provision of high-quality applied education that contributes to supporting the health and cosmetic sectors with qualified and innovative professionals.

To prepare graduates who possess scientific knowledge, technical skills, and professional ethics in the field of Aesthetic and Laser Technologies, and who are capable of delivering safe and effective services, while promoting scientific research and community service.

1. To prepare specialized technical personnel in operating laser devices and modern aesthetic technologies. 2. To strengthen the practical and applied aspects through advanced training laboratories. 3. To establish principles of occupational safety and professional ethics in aesthetic and medical practice. 4. To develop communication skills and the ability to handle various cases according to high professional standards. 5. To support scientific research in the fields of dermatology, cosmetology, and non-surgical therapeutic technologies. 6. To build partnerships with medical and cosmetic centers to provide distinguished field training opportunities. 7. To contribute to community service through awareness programs and specialized courses in skin care and the prevention of risks associated with the improper use of laser devices.
